About

Hi, I'm Mariene

I'm a physical therapist and educator, passionate about the potential of movement throughout life. I bring together pediatric physical therapy, motor development, family education and sport to help children and teens develop their abilities, get ready to take part in sports and discover new possibilities through movement.

Movement science, in service of people.

I'm Dr. Mariene Ostolaza, a physical therapist with experience in pediatric physical therapy, cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation, clinical education and research. Since 2013, my career has been guided by one conviction: movement opens opportunities to learn, build abilities, take part and connect with the world around us.

I'm the creator of Tummy Time Class, group sessions that guide families on how to build activities into their babies' daily routines to encourage motor development from the very first months of life. I also partner with childcare and early-development centers on initiatives that promote learning through play and exploration.

My work in pediatric physical therapy also extends to youth sports, where I promote the development of motor and physical skills, readiness to take part in sports and injury prevention. Through education, clinical practice and research, I aim to connect scientific evidence with practical experiences that support children's and teens' development and active participation.

I currently serve as Clinical Director of FUNfitness at Special Olympics Puerto Rico, where I help promote the health, functional performance and sports participation of athletes with functional and intellectual disabilities.

My purpose is to turn scientific knowledge into opportunities for children, families, athletes and communities to discover the potential of movement.
